Mixed BagThis section includes everything in Grace's box that could not be attributed to a known relative, friend or coworker. Seven of the recipes come from a Home Economics class that Grace took in grade school. Other sources include a chain letter, various Extension Service newsletters, TV, radio, etc. If Grace had an idea about where a recipe came from, I say so. There is a wide range. Some of the recipes are here more for their historical value than anything else—for example, Puffed Rice Stuffing that advertised itself as "mock wild rice." Some, like the furniture polish, are just odd. Others are ones I remember fondly—Mom's crab puffs, for example—or that, like the sweet potato crisp, I just have to try. I hope you find something here that becomes a family favorite.Questions or comments? Please email me or find me on Facebook . |
