Walnut PieGrace's note says, "Quick and easily prepared dessert." It is a walnut crust for an ice cream pie.
Mix together the nuts and sugar. Add the butter. Press into a 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Fill with the ice cream and put into freezer. Serve with chocolate or fudge sauce or whipped cream. Alternatives [as listed with the recipe]
Pistachio ice cream reminded me of another green pie: Grasshopper PieFor the crust: mix crushed chocolate cookies with melted butter. Fill with mint ice cream. For topping, use whipped cream, or mix chocolate syrup with creme de menthe and drizzle it over the ice cream. Freeze until just before serving. |
