Walnut Pie

Grace's note says, "Quick and easily prepared dessert." It is a walnut crust for an ice cream pie.

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried instant milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 quart pistachio ice cream, softened

Mix together the nuts and sugar. Add the butter. Press into a 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

Fill with the ice cream and put into freezer. Serve with chocolate or fudge sauce or whipped cream.

  • Chocolate ice box wafers can be used as a shell.
  • Butter pecan ice cream [or any other you like] can be used instead of pistachio

Grasshopper Pie

For the crust: mix crushed chocolate cookies with melted butter. Fill with mint ice cream. For topping, use whipped cream, or mix chocolate syrup with creme de menthe and drizzle it over the ice cream. Freeze until just before serving.
