Fruit Cocktail Dessert

  • 1-pound can of cocktail
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Mix the fruit cocktail and beaten egg. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar and baking soda. Add the dry ingredients to the fruit cocktail mixture. Pour into a 9 x 12 inch pan. Mix brown sugar and nuts and spread over the dough. Bake at 300°F for 1 hour.

This recipe came from the Morris County Extension Office, where Carl H. worked for many years. Grace told Sue: "You'll have fun letting people guess what is in it."
