Orange Sauce

for pork chops, duckling, etc.

  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange rind
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

Combine, stirring orange juice into dry mixture slowly. Cook, stirring now and then until clear and thickened, about 20 minutes. Add a few slices of orange, if desired, and serve.
