Chili Con Carne


Grace says this is in Edith's handwriting.


Brown 1 pound chopped meat and one or two sliced onions.

Add 2 cans kidney beans with the juice they are packed in.

If you brown the meat and onion thoroughly (really I should say fry until done) you need only heat the whole mixture in oven or over hot water. Otherwise, I’d bake it about ½ hour in a slow oven, adding a little tomato juice if it gets too dry.
