Harvey Wallbanger Cake

From George Stang, Soil Conservation Service, with the note: "You ought to make this sometime, it’s good!"

A Harvey Wallbanger is either a cocktail of vodka, orange juice and Galliano, or one of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers, who won the American League pennant with manager Harvey Kuenn. I used to think the cocktail was named after the Brewers, but it's really the other way around. So where did the name come from? The short answer is no one knows, except for maybe some Galliano ad man in 1970. When I was teaching at UW Platteville in the early 1980s, no one could spell my last name correctly because everyone was thinking about Harvey.
