Applesauce Cupcakes

Grace thinks this is from Gramma Moore. From all the typing mistakes ("baching poder, backing soda, ciminon") I guess this is another recipe she copied in school.

• ½ cup shortening
• 3/8 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup applesauce
• 2 cup flour
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon baking powder
• ¼ teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon cloves
• 1 cup raisins

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, and mix well. Add apple sauce to mixture, and mix well.

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves.

Add sifted ingredients to shortening mixture. Beat until smooth. Add raisins.

Bake at 350ºF for about 25 minutes.
